Playfulness With Your Pet

Our pets teach us so many valuable life lessons, one being the importance and benefits of play. Pets live in the present and are not concerned with productivity-- they are ready to enjoy something just for the sake of enjoying it. They have no agenda or goal. Getting into this mindset gives our brain a much needed break, uplifting our mood and stimulating creativity.

My pup Luna thinks playtime is always a good idea. Her eagerness to play encourages me to snap out of whatever I may be occupied with on any particular day. She invites me to just be present in the moment. I always find myself with a smile on my face as I engage with her in a friendly game of tug of war or fetch.

Both animals and humans bond with others through play. Bonding and connecting has tremendous benefits, including the release of feel-good hormones. In addition, regular play can help your pet relieve stress and anxiety, reduce problem behaviors, and keep them in better physical health, making it a win all around!
